Abacus Organic Associates continues
to strengthen its position as the UK’s leading group of
independent Organic consultants by expanding its portfolio
of services to the organic sector.
Andrew Trump
and
Lois Phillipps recently
joined Abacus, bringing a wealth of expertise from the organic
research and market development, arable and beef production,
grassland system development and nutrient management. This is along
side Gabrielle Lanceley who has vast expertise in organic
food processing and retailing, product development, food hygiene and
safety, the development of quality systems and HACCP’s.
This Organic expertise complements
production and procurement expertise in horticulture, arable and
root crop production, livestock management, land and property
management, business analysis and training to individuals,
co-operative groups and corporate clients, along side specific
certification and legislative advice provided by
Ric Bowers,
Lynn
Briggs, Stephen Briggs and
Sam Franklin.
Within Abacus, in
additional to all associates providing bespoke organic farm business
management advice, horticultural expertise is provided by
Rick
Bowers,
Nick Sandall and
Graham Collier,
who specialise in the
identification
and selection of “Organic Suppliers” for the Corporate/Packer/Food
Processor sector, technical monitoring of UK, European and
International supply, continuity programming and box scheme
development, business planning, management, financial analysis,
project management and local food links and supply chain
development.
Arable and Root crop
consultancy is provided by
Stephen Briggs,
Isobel Wright and
Andrew Charlton.
Combined with the Organic land agency expertise provided by
Sam
Franklin.
Livestock production
expertise and the organic management of dairy enterprises, beef,
sheep, poultry and pig enterprises is provided by
Mike Tame,
Dan Powell,
Gareth
Jones and Stephen Briggs.
We now provide
specialist Organic consultancy throughout the UK
and
internationally. In The UK we support over 380 organic
producers on over 420,000 acres, equivalent to 18% of the
organically farmed area in England and Wales across a wide range
of enterprises including, food processing and food safety, dairy,
beef, sheep, pigs, poultry, arable, root crops, herb and
horticultural production, business management and land agency issues
relating to organic management.
